Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a family of mixed blood. The mother of her child is English and her father is Nigerian. She was raised in the southern part of London Council Estate. She went to The Brit School aged 14. In London she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was earned. She appeared in many stages during her high school days, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career through the film Storm Damage. Since then she's made guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. In the following film, she was the lead in Elisha, an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie in the six episodes in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. She played Bambi on the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in theatre include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama program ran at The CW for only two episodes before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe's exit from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the very first episode of season 3. From 2014 to 2016she appeared in Salem as Tituba. Madekwe and her partner who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a huge family living in Hamilton, Ontario. The four brothers she had were also present: twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. All of her brothers were athletic and played baseball and hockey during the winter as well as in the summer. They grew up playing stadiums and played baseball. Ashley was unable to walk, but could dance. This led to the fact that when she turned 2 when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop and many more. Every major dance festivals, like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the honor of "top soloist".
